We pick you up at the Port or Airport or your Hotel in Athens at 7:30 am
After your driver has picked you up, you and set off towards the Peloponnese where Corinth is.
Driving for about an hour we reach our first stop at Corinth Canal or the Isthmus of Corinth. The six and a half km long canal separates the Aegean Sea from the Ionian Sea. The first idea to open a canal so that the ships didn’t have to go all around the Peloponnese occurred to the ancient rulers such as the Tyrant Periander.
The Canal was finalised in modern times on 25 July 1893 after eleven years of work. As it is a narrow passage, only smaller boats can cross it. However, MS Breamer Cruise ship in 2019 became the widest and longest ship to cruise through the canal.
If we are lucky, we will see a boat or two crossing the canal. We always allow plenty of time for photos or for a coffee break at the nearby cafes.

After you have finished with your Ancient Corinth tour, your driver will take you to Acrocorinth.
Acrocorinth was the most important defensive work of the area from antiquity to more recent times. It is a formidable castle on the top of steep rock 575 meters height that dominates the plain of Corinth.
The fortress’ walls are reinforced by towers and arches. There is still traces of the original temple of Aphrodite on the site. As you walk the Acrocorinth, remains of churches, mosques, houses, fountains and cisterns are found around.
Besides its priceless antiquity and medieval historical importance site, it also provides a very impressive panoramic view of the area. Plenty of time to stroll and take photos.
Tips: You will need anti-slippery walking shoes. Because of its height, it is often very windy.
There is no entrance fee.
